Top seal in further mastic and trowel to a smooth finish. If the sheet is cracked, clean and prime with black jack bitumen/flashing primer and apply a bandage strip of glass fibre embedded in the mastic. When dry, overcoat with black jack bitumen/flashing primer followed by black jack bitumen paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Johnny san from Does the jobTried this on an old asbestos type roof Applied it with a throw away brush onto dry roof. Did a great job of dealing the porous roof. A good stir is needed to disperse the fibres in the sealer . I definitely would recommend this

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cline from Fit for purposeAdvised by a builder to buy this product. I did and was more than happy with the application, the result and the endurance. New project being undertaken and so without hesitation bought it again. Left sealed in the tin it is perfectly fine but used paintbrushes need to be tightly covered in a plastic bag or clingfilm to finish the job but are best thrown away to start afresh each new job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Woodworking Doozer from So nice I bought it twiceNothing like the smell of bitumen in the morning! This has done exactly what I wanted. Painted the roof of my shed before felt and it rained almost within an hour and it was waterproof instantly and the rain had no affect on the performance. Will 100% buy again if needed.
  • If we did go a full 10 years though a bitumen'd boat would have been out 4 to 5 times in that time and all the costs of Blacking multiplied by 4 or 5. The paint and shot blasting cost us £1250 we did apply the paint ourselves though and 6 coats of it. There's no way that's Bitumen is going to be economic based on those costs IMHO.

  • Not surprised the emulsion didn’t take over the Black Jack - no brand would You need SBR, diluted 1-4 with water, 2 coats over the Black Jack Follow instructions on tub, drying times etc, then paint Is this a wall section o take it? Wickes sell a 1lt SBR whilst many others only sell in 5lt Hope this helps.
